Invitations to Apply
Although the Express Entry pool may be easy to enter, being invited to apply may prove a hurdle.
The larger majority of active candidates in the pool during 2016 scored between 300 and 450 points. You will see from the chart below that the score has not dipped below 453.
The government decides first on the number of candidates that it wishes to process on a monthly basis and this number itself dictates the score which ensures no more are selected then needed. The individuals qualifying will be a function of the number of candidates with bonus points for job offers, provincial nominations as well as qualifying students. In the fall of 2016, IRCC increased round sizes to meet the new level plan issued in November 2016.
I expect greater numbers to be approved as the last of the backlogs has now disappeared and all future applications will be subject to the Express Entry system.
